The staff in this unit are phenomenal and one nurse in particular was an outstanding example of the NHS at its best. I had a colposcopy in 2013 and was referred for another in 2014. This one which found CIN 2 and I was therefore referred back for the loop treatment. Having heard horror stories from friends in other parts of the country I was worried and very nervous but I honestly could not have been treated better from start to finish. The nurse explained everything in great depth, showing real sensitivity and empathy and was gentle throughout, ensuring my dignity was intact at all times and making me feel as comfortable as possible, her fellow nurses were also fantastic. As a team they hold your hand (literally) and tell you jokes and really understand the emotional implications of what you are going through, not just the physical. Hot tea and biscuits are provided afterwards while you recover. I will not forget the kindness shown by this team at Pontefract and highly recommend them to anyone. Please don't worry, I know it's scary, but they make it as easy as they possibly can for you.
"Outstanding patient care, could not be better"
