I am completely, 100% unimpressed by the way my mother has been treated on ward 22. The attitude of the nurses is appalling, for example, the rude comments that seem to come one after another by certain staff, their complete lack of compassion and understanding, and the way none of the staff seem to communicate. Needs of my mother were not met on several occasions, which leaves her and the rest of the family with worry and very little faith that she is getting the care she needs. It is a good job she spent some time in itensive care, though as this was the most distressing time for everyone, the nurses were absolutely amazing, providing constant reassurance and round the clock care. Without the support of the ICU nursing staff, I would be convinced that the nurses in the Royal were all in the wrong job because nursing definitely does not seem to suit the majority of their personalities.
