"wonderful service at Chorley Diabetes Centre"

About: Chorley & South Ribble Hospital / Diabetic medicine

(as the patient),

Recently I attended the Diabetes Clinic with my mum and I was so pleased with the service she received. Everyone was lovely and had plenty of patience with her as she walks very slowly now and finds understanding new things difficult.

Normally we are in and out but today we had a few questions and queries. The doctor said that he would ask the diabetes nurse to speak to us and that we should just wait for her to come get us as she was with another patient. We only had a few minutes to wait before the nurse came into the waiting room to get us. She did explain that she had other patients but that she could spare us 5 mins to chat.

What a wonderful lady she was, she set my mums mind at rest and explained a few things to me about mums condition. We came away with leaflets and a contact number if we had more problems. Nothing seemed too much for her, considering we had no appointment and had just been "pushed in".

I wish all areas of the NHS were this polite and helpful, and we have seen many of them as mum has many problems now. I couldn’t fault any of the staff at the Diabetes Centre and I've seen them deal with some upset and unpleasant people before on our frequent visits.
