I am writing to express my extreme gratitude to all the staff for the excellent care, treatment and kindness that I received at your hospital earlier this year in the Oral & Maxillofacial department at the Royal Preston Hospital From the moment I was diagnosed, Doctors explained to me exactly what the procedure entailed and there was no time wasted in obtaining CAT and MRS scans and then getting a date for the required surgery. During my pre op visits, staff went through the operation procedure in a calm and efficient way allaying any fears I had. After surgery, my 6 day post op stay in Ward 3 was made a great deal easier by the the outstanding care I received from all ward staff. Since I was sat up for much of my stay, I was able to observe at first hand the exceptional care and attention received by all other patients in this ward. Always cheerful, with nothing too much trouble, the nurses and care assistants always had a smile on their face. I was amazed how your staff managed to stay calm in all situations. The ward was exceptionally light, clean and tidy. The nurses and care staff who helped me settle in to my first experience of hospital life were efficient, caring, and very patient throughout my stay. The food was well cooked, tasty with plenty of choice I have now hopefully recovered and go back for monthly checks for the next 2 years In summary, my consultant, the other doctors, pre op and post op support staff, ward nursing staff and ancillary workers all contributed to making a stressful time very bearable for myself and my family and I wanted to write to say what a magnificent team of people you have working in that area I cannot praise highly enough the care I received throughout my stay. Your Oral & Maxillofacial staff at the Royal Preston Hospital are a credit to the NHS and I trust that their skills and attitude are acknowledged as an irreplaceable resource. I know that these are not easy times for our NHS but I feel that the way I was cared for reflects the very best aspects of the service - and I am very grateful for it. Thank you Yours sincerely Barry Colclough
