With witnessing for 30years the treatment of a family member Hellesdon hospital is shocking and getting worse with time. Doctors do not listen to advice from family whom know the patient, no continuity of care, communication with family is disgusting. The doctors say all the right things to keep records tidy, but are incapable of fulfilling the duty of care they have to patients. Mental health services in general are a disgrace, Norfolk is diabolical. The hospital is nothing more than a holding centre for people at a time of crisis, who can expect to be given medication to calm things down......only to be thrown back into the community with (sometimes) a care plan, that is unrealistic because of overstretched resources. I dread to think what treatment patients that are not fortunate to have families to act as advocates for them have to contend with if the merry go round of incompetence that we have endured is anything to go by.
