My grandad was a patient on ward E58 Acute Stroke Unit Sunderland Royal Hospital from 27th August 2014 after suffering a stroke . From day one he was cared for brilliantly the staff are amazing I can't fault anything everyday when we walked in to his room he was sitting up in bed room was clean his bed was freshly made he was washed and shaved he was so well looked after the staff were always checking in they were lovely and friendly when the buzzer was pressed they were there very quick and helped nothing was to much for them I can't sing there praises enough the doctors spoke to us and kept us informed he's care was amazing. He's been on other wards in this hospital which were terrible and this ward was a breath of fresh air to the others . Sadly my grandad passed away on the 9,th September 2014 we were called to the ward when he deteriorated and the male nurse on nights was brilliant he looked after Granda and us and made sure he was comfortable to the very end this ward is excellent well done to you all your doing an amazing job and thankyou from us all from the bottom of us all.
