I had quite a serious medical problem that necessitated an ambulance trip to Southmead hospital in Bristol. The paramedical arrived (Grace Cochrane and Lia Adams) and from this moment to the following day (where I am now) the quality of care was fantastic.
The paramedics introduced themselves in a very relaxed manner which put me and my family at ease immediately. They then continued to show great care and professionalism for the entire journey and made sure I was fully settled in to my bed in A&E. They were both extremely friendly and made this early experience fantastic under the circumstances.
I then stayed in two separate wards (where I am now) and have seen three doctors, two endocrinologists, about six nurses and a very friendly porter. Every single person I have seen has been friendly, caring and professional. Even the cleaning staff had a nice chat and the lunch time meal I had was delicious and filling.
To add credibility to this story I stayed at the same hospital (the older part) two years ago and had the opposite experience. So I sit here in a brand new private room with an en suite shower and toilet looking out of a large window at a beautiful plant arrangement. Very happy indeed. Thank you NHS!
"Excellent end to end care in Bristol"
