"Medicine for Elderly Rotherham Sitwell Ward"

About: Rotherham Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

I have never met such hard-working staff, even within the Rotherham DGH, as on the Medicine for the Elderly Ward (Sitwell). My brother had a stroke, as had many of the patients, and the nursing staff did not stop. It is a ward requiring very heavy work, constantly helping patients to remain clean and confortable while keeping their dignity, and I felt this was achieved at all times. The nurses, male and female, all had a very good sense of humour and also took the needs of the patient's relatives into consideration. As a result the atmosphere is very different in the Medicine for the Elderly ward than anywhere else in the hospital, and it is not a place that older people need to fear having to spend any time in, for they will receive the best of care possible.
