On my first visit to the Rosemere centre at Preston my quality of life was not good as I could not sit down, if I did for just a few seconds I would be in agony and have to lie down for at least an half hour until the pain down my leg eased off. I was diagnosed with myeloma, this had partly destroyed a bone in my lower back causing the nerve to become trapped whenever I sat down. The consultant and his team soon had me on a course of treatment that managed to stop the spreading of the myeloma and is now keeping it under control. The pain is now reduced by about 95% of what it was, it’s great to be out walking again, something I thought would never happen again. I’m so grateful to the consultant and his team, and the pain clinic for improving my way of life. I know patients complain about their appointments being delayed but on my last visit to Rosemere I had the results of a blood test returned in 8 minutes. Francis Baldwin
