Read the previous comment and totally agree with it. Patients are left in bed with side bars up so they cant get out, unless its for a sit in chair for a designate period of time, disorientated, unfed and watered when they cant eat or drink themselves. The staff range from absolutely fantastic, to, well, I'm not sure why a few of them are in nursing, totally remote, uncaring, ignoring and self interested. The doctors do their rounds and are so into themselves they appear to ignore patients needs, nurses, and relatives. to get any information from anyone is almost impossible. When you do get information, it depends who you ask on the answer you get, i.e, when asked the same question; "Has **** been eating and drinking?" you get told "Oh yes they have eaten all their breakfast today" to "No they have only eaten one or two cornflakes". Depending on who is asked, they just have no time to find out or don't care! Would you like to be ill on a ward or in a room where you are left without any idea what's going on in the world, no radio TV or chats? The hospital is new, so there will be some teething troubles and they are having them! Staff wander around looking for paperwork, notes, information, and don't seem to know from one to the other what each are doing. They have reception desks, one I have never seen manned the other, a congregation area to shuffle paperwork and use a computer. If you were a person in there with no relative or friends to help you need to worry. its a brand new nice place, but not a place you will feel cared for, comfortable or likely to recover from your illnessquickly or easily. Managers, senior people, local officials need to go and look unannounced to see the real operational standards for themselves. On the brighter side there are mostly good people working there, they just need the support and resources to enjoy doing their job. Theres an A4 notice at the entrance showing the actual resource against the planned required resource required. You guessed it! Its always very short of what it should be. There also seems to be a large amount of contract/agency support in this ward. GO SEE FOR YOURSELF thats the important meassge I would give from this review rating.
