Had a Hip replaced last Friday 8 Aug 2014 at 3.30pm. Home Sunday, pain free Sunday 10 Aug at 6pm. Now a week later and only taking 4 Paracetamol's in 24 hours. I am finding it difficult to expresses my complete admiration for the way my treatment was carried out. The staff from Orderlies to Consultants were without exception superb. Totally organised and totally caring in every respect. I was on Ward M and apart from fear of the unknown I never had a moments concern. Barlborough was recommended to me by a friend and should I need the other Hip replaced I would come back here in a shot. If you are reading this prior to surgery you can stop worrying about care or pain management. I chose minimal sedation during the 45 minute operation and was pain free when the anaesthetic wore off before a good night sleep. Chatted to anaesthetist throughout the person but could have opted to sleep if preferred. I am an Engineer and found the whole thing fascinating.
