We were very pleased with the care my husband received from Miss Griffiths, the surgeon, and her team at the Liverpool Heart and Chest hospital. My husband was then transferred to ward G for post-operative care - the nursing staff were all excellent and some went the extra mile.
My husband was given warfarin when in fact he shouldn't have had any, as they were trying to reduce his blood pressure level, so that he could have pacing wires removed. The nurse did question this but she was overruled by the Doctor. This caused my husband a 2-3 day delay in coming home.
He was also told on the Tuesday that there were not enough beds for post-op patients coming back from surgery, so he was then moved to Surgical Admissions. The staff there were far too busy looking after people who were about to go into theatre and so had little time for the 3 patients who had been moved there. We did not consider this acceptable.
