"Do not go here."

I contacted this hospital because I was getting shooting pains from my elbow. The receptionist was not interested even after I explained I was down on honeymoon and in major pain all that she could say was see a gp! Thanks for nothing. If it hadn't been for Okehampton hospital our honeymoon would have been ruined. I thought people in the south west were supposed to be friendly and helpful. How wrong was I!

Dear Mr Horsley

Thank you for posting your positive feedback about Okehampton Hospital.

I'm really sorry that you were met with a poor attitude prior to your visit to Okehampton hospital. As a member of the NHS no-one wants to hear of NHS staff being unhelpful towards a patient, when they need help and are in pain, and especially as you were on honeymoon: however I'm pleased we were able to help you.

I have shared your comments with the Hospital Matron, where I know they will be warmly received, and I hope you will return to the South West again.

Jayne
