"The doctor, Gynaecology"

About: Royal Shrewsbury Hospital

I was first referred to see the doctor many years ago after I’d had two miscarriages following the birth of my first son. I was 39 years old then and thinking I possibly shouldn’t be trying for another child. The doctor's encouragement and confidence that I should continue is the reason my 2nd son is here, I’m very grateful to her. More recently I’ve seen the doctor regarding my prolapsed womb, she initially encouraged me to do exercises, which helped the situation for a long time but following difficulties with my smear test she recommended and fitted a ring - this has improved life dramatically for me, I hadn’t realised how much I’d been avoiding before I had this. The doctor has been totally receptive to my wishes that I’d prefer to try anything other than surgery for the prolapse and so far this has been very successful. The doctor has been practical and honest with me but also extremely kind and understanding. I feel very fortunate to have been able to be treated by the doctor, I have complete confidence in her absolute professionalism, knowledge and ability. If I do have further gynaecological problems in the future, I would have no hesitation in requesting to be referred to the doctor. logo

Thank you for your kind comments regarding the professionalism of the gynaecology doctor that you have been treated by and who has given you the confidence to be seen again by her if you have any further gynaecological problems. As the doctor hasn't been named I will forward your comments to the Women and Children's Manager to share with all the female doctors.
