About: Sheffield Health & Social Care NHS Foundation Trust

(as a service user),

I would like to say something about mental health social workers, once you have been on the books for some time, it feels like you are discharged, and the reason is because there are too many other people on the books at that time. It does not feel that there is a proper explanation for the discharge When this happened to me, this made me feel very distressed and worried about how my mental health would be looked after. Its really hard then when you need help, to get referred back by your GP and then to be accepted by the Community Mental Health Team.

I am now worried that I need a referral to another team but I need to have a social worker to have a referral. This makes me feel that I don’t really know where to go for the help I need.

First of all let me apologise for the delay in responding to your posting on behalf of the trust. We have only recently begun to work with Patient Opinion following their launch earlier this year.

Thank you for your posting which is from a little time ago, I would assure you that we do monitor accessibility to services on an ongoing basis.

Best wishes
