"Feel fobbed off"

About: St Mary's NHS Treatment Centre (Portsmouth)

I attended the minor illness centre after suffering pain following a procedure at the gp surgery, having phoned the surgery and being told I would need to wait some weeks for even a phone appointment (the duty team also do not deal with the issue) I visited at Mary's and was told by the nurse it was the gp's problem and there was noone there to deal with me. I feel pushed from pillar to post, the HCA present was very nice but the nurse didn't seem to care particularly. It's a shame because I'm currently embarking on a nursing degree myself and it's been repeatedly drummed into us that we have to be caring at all times! I would be happier if I was given specific information on where I need to go, and made to feel like I wasn't wasting anyone's time.

Thank you for your feedback regarding the Minor Injuries and Minor Illness unit. We provide a walk in service for Minor Injuries and Illness. Sometimes however it is necessary to redirect patients back to their General Practitioner to continue with the treatment they have started for ongoing problems. The way we deal with our patients however is important and my sincere apologies that on this occasion we did not make you feel like a valued patient which is always our aim. If you would like to discuss this further please do contact me at the centre. Kind regards Deb Jeavons-Fellows Operations Manager
