What could be improved

I was told I would have to wait around 3 months to see a NHS Dr for the first time about having a cyst removed. I explained that my previous refferal to this hospital had involved a similar wait and resulted in the cyst growing and exploding which obviously I wanted to avoid. I was told I would have to pay privately if I wanted treatment in time.

I paid privately and was treated by the same NHS consultant who clearly had appointment times available! I was told the Hospital management impose the 3 month delay to fiddle their statistical returns?! It doesnt make sense.

I have since learned that the advice was incorrect as I could have used NHS Choices to find a NHS hospital with shorter waiting times.

Perhaps the hospital management would like to respond with an explanation?
