What could be improved
My wife & I took a neighbour to visit her Granddaughter.Whilst the ladies went to the ward,I partook in a coffee,in the draughty corner opposite the enterance.Having finished the coffee?? I moved forward to the main ward entrance. On my approach,I just happened to see a HAND WASH STATION.and the only person to use it,was one of the staff manning the front desk.Pausing for about 5 minutes,to observe the flow of visitors entering the building, not one person used this facility.Moving on to the Shop! I located another of the elusive HAND WASH STATIONS. For 25mins.with my back to the shop, observing the endless flow of visitors, just one person used the hand wash, and he was a PATIENT !!!!! Nursing staff were coming and going to the shop, and not one used the hand wash. I didn,t need to ask my wife if she had used the wash, because she has had over 40yrs nursing experience.Midwiffery/District Nursing. The corridor is wide enough to have a perspex partition down the centre, with the left hand side,INBOUND,and the right hand side,OUTBOUND. Inbound with multiple Hand Wash Dispensers, either side of the walkway, and a member of staff informing visitors to use the wash.A perspex screen seperating the corridor would not cause a fire hazard in the need to evacuate the building.
