I am a prostate cancer sufferer, who has just finished going through the early tests; my final test was the CT SCAN, which I am afraid did not go to well. I had reaction to either the injection or the 900ML of fluid I had to drink. The outcome was, besides turning red and my face swelling up, it was suggested I saw my doctor for treatment, who on seeing me gave me a tablet to be taken daily to ease the problem. The last thing a person wants, who has got cancer, is the worry of side effects you can get just with the testing. The time it takes from the first sign of the cancer to finally seeing the specialist, in my case, will have taken nearly 2 months. My appointment is not until the 5th march, it was originally May 25th, it was only when I queried the date that it was forwarded to march. I can only thank Macmillan and PALS for the help they have given me, especially on their website, because I do not think there is enough advice given to each person on what the test means or the reason for that particular test.
Wishing all who have Prostate cancer, a speedy recovery.
