Have just left wrightington hospital and only have praise for the staff. From the moment of arrival they were organised ... bed ready admission process like a production line and very smooth. Anaethatist arrived and went through the process with the consultant arriving shortly afterwards to say hello and go through the operation and answer my questions. The nurses were excellent and very respectable. The ward extremely clean. Whilst I didn't use the porters I saw them around transporting patients and the were very caring and respectful. Going down to theatre again staff brilliant and excellent, checking out if I had any questions at any time and that I was ok. I didn't feel the cannula being put in. On the ward after surgery the care from the nursing staff was second to none, they looked after me excellently making sure that I was managing my pain effectively, the ward again very clean and every member of staff who I came into contact with was brilliant. I was involved in section making at all times. When being discharged I needed to be discharged for 12 so my lift could collect me, the nursing staff were wonderful making sure physio came down to get me up on crutches early, drugs from pharmacy were ordered early and I was discharged In time for my lift to pick me up saving me a very expensive taxi home. The food, whilst I didn't try much, the soup I had was excellent and very welcoming. Usually I am not a lover of sandwiches but the sandwich I had was excellent - fresh and on brown bread. I was offered a meal which looked nice (roast chicken piece with veg) and only declined because I didn't feel I could eat anything after the soup. Would definitely recommend this hospital with no hesitations 10/10 for quality if service, care, cleanliness and food. Thank you to all the staff on ward D and the John Charnley wing, the theatre staff and the consultant.
"Excellent hospital"
