What I liked
Most of the nurses were friendly. The stroke consultant was professional.
What could be improved
A relative was treated for stroke here in 2005. He was nil by mouth because he couldn't swallow. Amongst other instances of neglect by the nurses, his empty introvinus drip was once not changed for over 18 hours, despite repeated requests by myself and my mother that the nurses refill it. I consider this unacceptable. When my relative was last seen alive, he was thirsty and asking for water. We, his family, are not sure that if he had been kept hydrated he would have survived. But that doubt will always remain in our minds, because the level of care was often low.
