"Stuck because of cancelled surgery "

Having a horrible time trying to schedule my appointment to have pins removed from my knee, I waited nearly a year on the waiting list for this operation and now my date has been cancelled.

Many problems with this, firstly - no one bothered to tell me that my surgery was cancelled and I only found out when I called the hospital to find out why my letter telling me what ward I was on hadn't arrive, this happened just a week before my op. Then I was told that they couldn't do anything to tell me when the operation was happening, and I would have to call again the same day, which I did.

After someone on the phone being rude to me, I was told that I would have to wait a further 2 weeks to have the operation scheduled, however I am moving from Bangor and scheduled my whole move around this appointment, so they still couldn't given me a date when I called.

Secondly, I find the reason for the cancellation to be unreasonable, I was told it was going to be my surgeons day off, surely this should be planned in advanced and therefore there should be no surgeries booked on this day?

So, now I am stuck unable to bend my knee and with the pain for longer, even after waiting on the waiting list for nearly a year to have the operation in the first place.
