Basically I have a 1cm grade 1 breast cancer, I have undergone 2 operations where the surgeon has basically removed a 3rd of my breast and left me looking disfigured.
This all started in January. I now discover in July that the cancer is still there, they have operated twice and removed the wrong part of the breast. I have been told that they would need to operate again to remove it and if that operation didn't go right or the clearance was not good enough I would need another operation then because I would be left with hardly anything.
I would want a reconstruction operation, so I am now being referred to City Hospital to have a mastectomy and reconstruction with means an 8 hour operation where muscle would be taken from my back then put in my breast. I will be in hospital for 6 days not able to do anything for 6 weeks then spend months recovering.
Apparently the new breast would be higher than my existing one but I have been told that I could also have surgery on my other breast to make it look like the new one. I just cannot believe what they have done to me. The surgeon has confirmed that I have a tiny 1 cm grade 1 cancer that they believe is not in danger of spreading etc so how has it come to this?
