Whilst I am sure there are many positive comments that people can and will make regarding the hospital, I simply highlight that there are exceptions to every rule. My poor husband is one of them. He was a patient for nearly 4 months in 2013 and although I am not blaming any one individual, the hospital failed him at nearly every turn, resulting in the above title. He entered the hospital, was declared fit, no illness, and yet he never came home to me, and is now terminally ill as a resident in an EMI Mental Home. I have gone through the full official NHS complaint procedure and the hospital has been found guilty of neglect on six counts, including Mental Health Mismanagement, Diabetic Mismanagement, HA Pneumonia, Incontinence Mismanagement, Basic Nursing care and Wound Tissue Care. Please judge for yourself, but be vigilant. I had a gut feeling from day one - and I was right. But you cannot change the detail once your relative is in their hands. Keep records, take photos, and don’t be bullied. You deserve to have the care the NHS promises to give you.
