I've always anticipated a negative experience at the prospect of being admitted here, however this was not the case in my experience. The paramedics that came to collect me from home were very professional up until they left me at A&E. My stretch in A&E was probably my worst time here, I did at one point contemplate escaping due to the fact i was in a brightly lit cubicle with the curtains open for at least 2 hours at a time throughout the night. I felt sorry for the staff more than myself though, as they were under-staffed with their fair share of Friday night drunken patients. After 6 hours in A&E I was admitted to an Assessment ward (B14) where I immediately felt comfortable. My stay in this area last 12 hours and it was fantastic. I was moved to B20 later where I continued to receive very courteous treatment. Thanks to the nurses and doctors who looked after me.
"Very much better than I anticipated"
