Not too happy with how my GP handled the referral in January for my problems (secretary didn't do the referral letter until I chased her up 7 times, eventually got my appointment about 7 weeks later, then I found out I should have been referred under the 2 week wait pathway for urgent issues) Ended up having to have a Hysteroscopy on the 25th June 2014 after various other tests. After reading many horror stories I was very nervous about the procedure, but the consultant and his team are simply amazing. There was virtually no discomfort during the procedure, I was told what was happening, and I got the great news that it was just a fibroid and not cancer (as I had imagined it must be). I won't lie it was quite painful afterwards so make sure you have some god painkillers. Have been given a few options to think about and am going back in 4 months to discuss how to deal with it. Both of the nurses present, the consultants assistant (I think?) and the consultant himself are wonderful. I felt very reassured which I think is just as important as them being good at their jobs. Thank you very much to all of them.
