I was discharged from the hospital's 'gate' 26b Sunday afternoon (yesterday) after a knee op in theatre 21 on Friday morning. Despite a hold up (due to some external supplier failure) before the op itself I must say that I was very impressed with the care I received. The surgeon and his team were very approachable and explained what was to follow in detail. The new building is very impressive and the facilities well thought through (even if a bit of 'move chaos' is still visible). I should also add- the food is really nice as for hospital food standards. You can choose from a couple of meals and desserts and it's tasty enough to actually make you want to eat the whole lot... However I must say that it was the staff that make it a really fantastic place, even though at times they did seem a bit over stretched. Their friendly and caring manner makes all the difference when you are stuck in hospital and in considerable pain... Massive thanks to Matt, Amy, Stewart and all the other nurses and personnel on 26b!
"Above all- wonderful staff"
