About: Southend Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I was investigated as an emergency for a possible cardiac condition.

The investigation was very professional and all the staff were well trained, competent in my view, and very pleasant and helpful all the time.

I was diagnosed as not suffering from a suspected cardiac condition very promptly.

My only trivial concern was that the trolley mattress became extraordinarily uncomfortable after about 2 hours.

Many thanks for your feedback. I am pleased that your experience of our A&E department was so positive and that they were able to diagnose the problem you were having so quickly. your comments will be passed on to the team in A&E and we do appreciate your comment about the trolley. Whilst they are quite firm, I would like to reassure you that they do give a high degree of pressure relief and are only intended for short term use.

I would like to wish you well and hope you make a speedy recovery.
