What could be improved
Everything.
Anything else?
I went with a suspected appendicitis, however the dr said i had been a stomach bug, my mum argued the point, but was told 'i'm a dr, i know better'. So went home. A week later i was delirious, could not stand up and kept collapsing. Went back to the hospital, they took an x-ray of my stomach, the xray was completely white. No one could understand what this was, so technicians were called to check the machine. 5 hours later they decide I now a have a ruptured appendix and massive internal infection. Was then admitted for emergency operation. All goes well. few days later while im still on a ward, dr's are telling me i should be going to the toilet, telling me to try harder!! Turns out the pain killers they were giving me caused constipation, but they appeared to not realize this. During my time in the ward my mum had been telling the nurses my wound looks a bit infected (smelt) but this was ignored.
The day came for me to leave, and the staples to be removed from the 8" hole in the middle of my belly. They took the staples out, low and behold it was infected and had not healed, so popped open. But they did nothing, said my bed was taken, so had to leave. It took 4 months for this wound to heal, and it is still a very big scar.
This hospital nearly killed me. And continued to try and do so until i left. I now live in Sheffield, fortunately the hospitals here are a lot better.
