"Was a patient on ward 31 January ..."

About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary

(as the patient),

What I liked

Was a patient on ward 31 January 2009. I have nothing but the highest praise for the staff on the ward. I was treated with dignity and courtesy throughout my stay, and was made to feel valued and really cared for by the staff. They showed a similar high regard for other patients, even when faced with rudeness and uncivility. I saw staff show a willingness to go above and beyond their job descriptions at all hours of the day and night to ensure patients were comfortable and safe.

Staff showed equal concern and care for members of my family and visitors when they were here and I am extremely grateful for their wonderful care and treatment.

What could be improved

Some older patients with dementia like illnesses were on the ward and exhibited challenging behaviour which was sometimes difficult to watch. Would have thought that they would need more input from specialised staff

Anything else?

Thank you RVI!
