It is essential to be able to answer the phones and handle calls professionally. I endured a nightmare trying to get through spires terrible phone system, simply to get through to their accounts dept. Then I rand the dermatology dept. no advertised on the hospital website to try and speak to a doctor's secretary and got some guy talking about appointments for other depts. Finally I tried the hospital switch board, and reached an operator, who didn't reply to my request, I just got a continuous note but no reply. It's fundamental to answer the bloody phone and not turn it into an obstacle course for callers. Not fit for purpose
