After being in DGRI for a routine posterior repair, I found on returning home I could not go to the toilet. After 5 days I returned via NHS 24 – doctor was good and listened well – re-admitted as very poor bowel sounds one side none the other. Potassium levels were very low.
Dr who admitted excellent. Good bedside manner and informative. Admitted to ward 16. Most praise must go to Gilian Dobie – she was attentive, caring, explained everything and put you at ease and most of all she listened to what I said.
The staff in Ward 16 were excellent from nurse auxiliaries to cleaners, nothing was too much trouble and the ward was always clean and tidy.
My experience therefore was made more positive because of all this.
The NHS takes a lot of knocks, all I can say is well done and thank you.
