"Oophorectomy"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

I had this treatment on the 30th April, but the wound got infected and since then I have had problems and pain. The hospital told me to go to my GP. I am concerned that there was no instructions on how to care for wounds and that is why I got infected. It could be assumed that people know but I did not know. Don't know what to do now, as my pelvis has become hard with the inflammation, still finishing another lot of antibiotics and if not gone will have to go to A&E. Also was told on the ward that I needed oxygen at home, but no one arranged for me to have this. My doctor said the hospital should give it. I did not get it.

Thank you for your comment. I am very concerned to hear that you were not given any aftercare advice. To investigate this for you, I require more information. Please contact me through our PALS team on 01708 435 454 or email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk with more information. Yours sincerely, Stephen Burgess Medical Director
