My mother is currently in Napier ward She was transferred here from Barnet General as they ran out of beds. She walked into Barnet on 26th December. She is now bedridden with pressure sores and has lost 3 stone in weight. She has not been visited by a dietician. I have been given constantly conflicting medical information, most of it inaccurate. One doctor didn't know she had a pacemaker, which Barnet General fitted!Mum's hands and nails are dirty and her wasn't washed since December. I can see why this hospital is branded on this website as the worst in London. I have just spoken to the doctor on call as I am concerned there is a Safeguarding issue when an 89 year old lady is being starved to death and has pressure sores. He wouldn't go on the ward to see my mum but said he would "look at the computer". I have watched my mum's bedside tables being washed with dirty water, with a dirty dishcloth. The ward Manager appears to do nothing but write down complaints on his notepad, and I suspect these are binned after you leave his office. The Radiographer was rude, arrogant and spoke to my mum,who is deaf, with a complete lack of dignity. She left the ward with my mum struggling to breathe. She refused to help me get my mum upright, saying that is a nurse's job. My mum's life expectancy is now sadly short, mainly due to a complete lack of care and professionalism. I am sorry she had the misfortune to ever be admitted to Chase Farm. An added feature of this hospital I'd a complete lack of signage. In the early days of my visiting an ambulance offered me a lift back to my car as it was dark and there were no signs! The ambulance crew told me they can never work out where to take their patients!
