"No communication about my daughter's care"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a relative),

My daughter was admitted to BRI nine days ago with 'maids knee'. She didn’t receive the right treatment, and has ended up with MRSA. She still hasn’t received antibiotics for the last few hours. No one is telling her what the problem is and who to talk to!

Now her doctor is on holiday, and been away for the last three days and she has not been seen to. She didn’t have her bed changed for 3-4 days, and when she presses her buzzer it takes maybe 40 minutes or more for the nurse to arrive and see to her. She hardly receives cups of tea's and left in a room! She’s on her own with no telly because no one has come to fix it. Please help or send us a comment on what we can do. Thanks

Thank you for taking the time to talk about your experiences. I am sorry to hear that you have had such a difficult time. I would like to recommend that you contact your local NHS Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) for more guidance and help on this issue. They can be contacted on (01274) 364021/ 365853 or by email. They should be able to clear up what further help you can expect to receive in this matter.
