"Disappointing care"

About: Princess Royal University Hospital (Orpington)

I feel you have to be well to survive in this hospital. Some of the staff are very good and engage well but some are very dismissive and blatantly rude. The radiology staff prefer to continue their conversations rather than engage with waiting patients and there is no indication of the expected wait for any procedures. I do think the gowns need to be changed immediately as they fail to protect patients' modesty and barely tie up! Surely press studs could be used instead of cotton ties which perish. As an inpatient, I thought the food was inedible and I left sooner than anticipated because I was so hungry and didn't eat for two days! I am not being fussy but on one occasion the baked potato offered bore no resemblance to potato but had been pulverized to a horrible white mass. There are some really good dedicated staff there but they are in the minority

We are extremely sorry to hear that staff failed to communicate with you within the Radiology department in a professional, courteous and helpful manner. All of your comments will be passed on immediately to the Radiology Managers for action. Your dissapointment with food and the description of the baked potato will similarly be passed on to our catering providers. I hope that the clinical care you received was of an acceptable standard.
