"The poor service at Solihull A&E "

About: Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital / Accident and emergency Solihull Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I attended the A&E Department at Solihull Hospital in the morning. A nurse saw me due to an ankle problem which was not due to any trauma and immediately mentioned that I had strained my ligaments. The nurse advised me to go to boots and buy some pain killing tablets.

Subsequently the pain got worse and I attended the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital near my parents. A thorough examination including blood tests and x ray undertaken showed that I have gout. So thanks to them for getting it right.

The service at Solihull whilst polite was poor and it needs resolving.

Dear Claus2

Thank you for taking the time and trouble posting your comments to the Patient Opinion website. I am so sorry to read of your experience in our A&E department at Solihull Hospital. I have forwarded your email to the matron to speak to the staff. Could I please ask if you can email me your hospital PID number and your address so that we can look into your case?

Best wishes and a speedy recovery

Iona
