I transferred to Ashurst the next day after giving birth at PAH for the after care and support I'd read/heard about. Staff made me feel very welcome and comfortable from the moment I walked through the doors until the moment I left. I very much wanted to breast feed but was anxious about getting it right as so many people I know had given up within a short time. The midwives were very patient and took their time to support me. As a new mum I was surprised to feel confident when I walked out of there. My baby couldn't open her mouth very wide and has a slight tongue tie, they also realised she would chomp instead of the smooth sucking action she was supposed to be doing. I noticed she doesn't respond to nose to nipple and has no routing reflex. All of those were making it very painful for me but I have managed to persist and stick with it. A chiropractor is assisting with the problems which hopefully will soon be treated. I'm looking forward to enjoying feeding my baby without the pain which the staff at Ashurst have prepared me for. My little girl is 5wks old and has been gaining about 9oz a week so although she started off as a tiny baby (weighed 6lb5oz) - she's quickly catching up! I've already recommended this place to another expectant mother and would love to return here!
"A wonderful facility!"
