My mother transferred from Torbay after having been in EAU4 and then Midgeley in December. She spent her final weeks at Coverdale and died on 11th February 2014. Her friend and I were at her side everyday. For her last two nights I was there all day and all night, thanks to the nursing staff giving me a comfortable chair and blankets, and she slipped away in her sleep. From the moment I notified the night staff that my mother had died, they continued to care for her exactly as if she were alive; talking softly, asking if they could move her, gently touching her. The treatment she had from the nurses was exemplary and special mention must be made of the ward domestic staff who were so kind and loving towards my mother, her friend and me. I cannot fault the care she received and am indebted to the amazing people who work on Coverdale Ward. Thank you.
