I broke my arm on 21st November and received excellent care at A&E with follow up appointments on 7th December and 21st December. Physio therapy started on 29th December, very quick.
The only trouble was that a fracture of my thumb had been missed and was only x-rayed when I mentioned (21/12) that it was still painful and that there was a lump on it. The appointment with the consultant was on 23rd January 2007 (so more than a month later) but then the operation to my thumb happened very quickly, impressively quickly on the following Thursday. Couldn't have been better.
The only thing that surprised me was that there were no bottles of alcohol jel by the toilets, specially since hand washing after the operation was a bit one sided. Otherwise nothing or nobody could be better. You even coped with my awkward name.
