"Physio...what physio"

About: Royal Oldham Hospital

I was involved in an RTA in September 2012, where a vehicle rear ended me on a motorway, writing off my car. The initial Physiotherapy needs I dealt with by paying for a Physiotherapist out of my own pocket and then adding this to a claim for damages. Once we reached Jan 2013 the claims management company said that rather than continue with private physiotherapy, I had an obligation to mitigate my claim and therefore had to look to the NHS for further treatment. My treatment had reached a place where regular physio was not improving my situation, but I was informed that the injuries could take 12-18 months to fully recover, so I opted to discontinue the treatment at that time. In September I started excperiencing pain again and approached my Doctor with a view to arrange an appointment. In January 2014 I still had not received anything and contacted my GP, they chased this up to be informed by the Physio team that an invite to arrange an appointment had been sent out but as I had not organised one within 5 weeks, that they had discharged me in December 2013. In Feb my GP re-referred me, only to be told that this process cpuld take up to 13 weeks! I know that tomorrow is April 1st, but this is no joke.
