Last year I fell on my arm which was hurting so went to A&E, they took 2 standard wrist X-rays which showed no injury but a crack in the elbow. Got given an outpatients appointment for a few days later, only when the sugeon saw me he suggested specific scaphoid X-rays which highlighted a broken wrist. Spent 13 weeks in cast & it eventually healed. Then yesterday, I fell over again & recognised the pains to be my scaphoid again. So back to A&E & said I think I've broke it again. Yet they only did the 2 standard wrist X-rays & said no break & sent me home. Yet am in more pain now than when I was last year. If they did the specific scaphoid X-rays I was hoping for & it wasn't broke then fine. But now I'm in so much pain I'm having to consider going to another hospital & asking again for specific X-rays or seeing my GP & getting him to refer me to a specialist to confirm. Just got the feeling they didn't believe me, take me seriously, wanted to save money by not doing the extra 2 X-rays & get me out the door as fast as they could. My cat gets better service at the vets to what I experienced yesterday !!
