I was recently in the Leicester General for a splenectomy resulting from pancreatic cancer. The staff and consultants could not be faulted for their level of care before, during or after my admission. Admittedly there were issues with ward staff regarding lack of support and staff on a daily basis but this did not affect the level of care they provided under very difficult working conditions. From diagnosis to pre - op to high dependency to SACU to ward, I was treated with dignity, humility and a decent sence of level headed (gallows) humour that I must admit I didn't expect having watched numerous damming reports on local television. Top notch care all round.
"Happy patient"
