"Fantastic care"

About: Royal Derby Hospital

My father in law sadly passed away on ward 404 at Royal Derby Hospital. The care and attention he received whilst there was excellent. The whole team from HCAs, who took time and attention to ensure he was washed and clean, to nurses whose compassion to us as a family will remain with us for yars to come and the medical team who explained everything so well; we cannot thank you enough. You truly deserve awards. Thank you all so much

Thank you for providing your kind feedback about your recent experiences on Ward 404. We aim to provide the most caring and compassionate care, particularly when someone is in their last weeks and days of life. I am pleased to hear that you felt your family was supported during this difficult time as well. I would like to wish you and your family well for the future. I also note that you have mentioned you believe these staff members should receive awards. We do have a Pride of Derby awards scheme for all staff which is done 4 times per year. If you would like to nominate a particular member or members of staff for an award, please contact my colleague Judith Moore, who can provide you with further details. Either email her at judith.moore8@nhs.net or telephone 01332 787382. Thank you again for taking the time to provide us with this feedback. Kindest Regards Sarah Todd, Patient Experience Manager, Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
