"Heart attack"

About: Chorley & South Ribble Hospital

I was referred to Chorley Cardiac Unit by my doctor after suffering chest pains. On arrival I was given test which showed that I had a heart attack. I was then kept in and given medication over a 1 week before being transferred to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for an angigram and subsequent triple bypass. Whilst in Chorley I found the staff to be on a patient level with no task to small. I felt I was treated like a human being and not just another patient. Thank you very much. All this happened just after Christmas and after my 3 week stay within both hospitals I felt greatly appreciative of what was done for me. I am 72 years of age.

Thanks for your kind comments. Hearing about positive experiences really motivates our staff, and helps us identify where we’re getting things right so we can share good practice across all of our services. Best wishes for your ongoing recovery
