What I liked
At the age of 12 months, my daughter was admitted to Q.V.H. 'Peanut ward', following a burn from a cup of coffee (a large area). Both my wife and I were devastated, and emotionally drained following what had happened. The consultants and nurses were fantastic; working together, explaining all the different medical techniques being considered/ used, and treated our daughter with respect and compassion (she can be very demanding and a head-strong toddler!). The way she was treated and handled was tailored to meet both her medical requirements, and her personality. The staff were extremely professional, not only concentrating on the well-being of our daughter, but also took time to ensure that both my wife and I were supported emotionally. I cannot thank the staff enough for all their hard work, and care during this period.
What could be improved
The pay that the staff receive for their demanding and dedicated work.
