Alex the OT from Totton and Waterside Integrated Community Team has provided an extremely excellent, helpful service for my wife and I. She's given me, as a carer, confidence and put me on the right path.
She has given us equipment to aide my wife around the house.
Prior to this, my wife was in a care home that was failing her. I took my wife out of the care home in 2019, after I had bought all of the equipment we needed. I approached my GP's for support. One of them said that they would support us if we could get a care plan in place with ambulance services. Then Covid hit, so I was looking after my wife alone, with some evening support that we paid for. After that we haven't had much support from the GP.
The bed that we bought broke, and the company that I bought it from denied all knowledge of me buying it. The care company, Forest Rose Care, that we were involved with, supported us with this, and managed to link us up with the team at Totton that we now have.
They have been nothing but helpful and loving and have given me confidence to look after my wife at home.
