"The staff were so kind and considerate at all times"

About: Victoria Hospital / Rapid Cancer Diagnostic Service (RCDS)

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I received a GP referral to attend the RCDS unit at Victoria Hospital.  I was amazed that all my initial communications were by telephone.  Amazed but pleased as this meant everything happened very quickly.  The first call was to discuss my symptoms (losing weight and feeling very tired) and then arrange various tests.  The staff were so kind and considerate at all times and explained the process in detail.   This was very reassuring.  The radiographers were also very kind including making me feel comfortable and joked about my modesty.  My experience was one of a very fast process but with a human touch at all times.  I do have one complaint - car parking at Victoria Hospital, it is so inadequate for the amount of staff and patients.
