I recently attended Inverclyde Hospital, Level L, Gynaecology Outpatients, for a manual vacuum aspiration (MVA) following a missed miscarriage.
From start to finish, the care I received was excellent. Everything was explained to me at each stage. Belinda, the healthcare assistant, Allison, the nurse, and Dr Lamont, the consultant, were all friendly, thoughtful, and supportive, and I felt listened to and cared for.
My first choice of management would have been medical management; however, I was not given the option to do this at home. Because of this, I opted for the MVA. While I am thankful for how smoothly everything went, I do feel that home medical management should be offered as an option for future patients, and this is something I believe the health board should consider going forward.
Overall, I am very grateful for the care and compassion I received.
