"Th care I received was excellent"

About: Inverclyde Royal Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I recently attended Inverclyde Hospital, Level L, Gynaecology Outpatients, for a manual vacuum aspiration (MVA) following a missed miscarriage.

From start to finish, the care I received was excellent. Everything was explained to me at each stage. Belinda, the healthcare assistant, Allison, the nurse, and Dr Lamont, the consultant, were all friendly, thoughtful, and supportive, and I felt listened to and cared for.

My first choice of management would have been medical management; however, I was not given the option to do this at home. Because of this, I opted for the MVA. While I am thankful for how smoothly everything went, I do feel that home medical management should be offered as an option for future patients, and this is something I believe the health board should consider going forward.

Overall, I am very grateful for the care and compassion I received.

Your kind comments regarding Belinda, Allison, and Dr Lamont have been shared with them and the wider team, and they will be greatly appreciated. Providing compassionate, supportive care is extremely important to us, particularly in such sensitive circumstances.

I am also grateful for your thoughtful comments regarding the option of home medical management.
