I have spent the last few days in the post labour ward, Altnagelvin; recovering from emergency c-section complications and have struggled to adapt to breastfeeding my baby.
However, I have had excellent care and attention from Midwife, Hollie, and Student Midwife, Sarah.
They were exceptionally empathetic with the practical difficulties I was facing with breastfeeding, due to being in a lot of pain and feeling extremely fatigued post labour and surgery.
They have given me so much 1:1 time, care and attention as they personally assisted me to hand express, pump and feed my baby. They have shown me so much reassurance, kindness and empathy (always with a smile) which has truly made my hospital stay a positive experience.
I couldn’t believe it when Hollie advised she was only in her post 3 weeks; due to her level of sound advice and professionalism. Sarah will also be an equally great midwife when she graduates!!
Thank you Hollie and Sarah - you are a great team and I am deeply grateful for you both going the extra mile in caring for my daughter and I.
